Maxie "Nolavon" Harris O'Quinn

Maxie "Nolavon" Harris O'Quinn, age 92, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was born in Saltville, Virginia in 1931 to the late Guy and Susie Harris. She was a faithful lifelong member of Valley view Assembly of God of Saltville. She was a dedicated Christian who enjoyed reading her bible daily. She was raised by her family with traditional values, and passed those same values to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas McKinley O'Quinn; seven brothers, Fred Jackson, John Harris, Bascom Harris, Frank Harris, Hugh Harris, Bill Harris, and Curtis Harris; three sisters, Evelene Anderson, Nannie Sheppard, and Rosie Taylor; and one grandson, Jeffrey O'Quinn.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Lois Bordwine and husband Mike, David O'Quinn and wife Judy, and Doug O'Quinn and wife Sandy; three grandchildren, Brennan O'Quinn and wife Lauren, Travis O'Quinn, and Michelle Puckett and husband Mike; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of MSA Hospice Care of Abingdon for their love and care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Dennis Banks, and Phillip Harris officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will be following the service at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Virginia.
