Melissa Ann "Missy"
Wix Strouth
Apr 14, 1974 — Jun 19, 2026
Saltville
Saltville, Virginia
Melissa Ann “Missy” Wix Strouth, age 52, entered into her Savior’s arms on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Missy was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, a graceful Christian whose love for the Lord was evident in every part of her life and shined through in everything she did. God always came first, and she made sure everyone knew it. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend always putting her family and loved ones before herself and loving them deeply. Missy was incredibly intelligent and creative, with a gift for expressing herself through writing and music. She enjoyed composing poems, one of which was published in a history book for the college she attended, as well as writing her own songs and playing the guitar and was able to teach her husband to play. She found joy in the beauty of the outdoors, especially hiking alongside Brenda and Hope. She was strong willed and determined, even teaching herself sign language. Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find peace and comfort in knowing where Missy is today. She is home healed, at peace, and free from pain.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua King; her parents, James and Margaret Keen Wix; her grandparents, Claude and Alma Wix and Shirl and Evelyn Keen; and a special uncle, Jackie Wix.
Left to cherish Missy’s memory are her loving husband of 22 years, William “Will” Strouth; her children, Nathan, AJ, Devan, Shelley Delp, and Autumn Strouth; her brothers, Jimmy Wix and wife Jeanie, and Randall Wix and wife Shonda; her sister, Hope Cisneros; several dearly loved grandchildren; two nieces; three nephews; special aunts, Dreama Wix and Brenda Cole; cousins, Darrel Wix, Jennifer Ball, and Larry Wix (Dianna Holland); a special friend, Sandy; and a host of many other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral services and committal will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgedale United Methodist Church, 1112 Ridgedale Road, Saltville, VA 24370.
