Michael "Monk" Stanley Armstrong, age 70, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chilhowie, Va. Monk was a graduate of Rich Valley High School. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to watch wrestling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amon and Reba Stevenson Armstrong; one brother, Amon Eugene "Bud" Armstrong; and one sister, Debbie Darlene Johnson.

Monk is survived by his two sons, Perry Armstrong and girlfriend Kayla McNew, and Charles Armstrong and wife, Alexandra; and one grandson, William Armstrong; brothers, Jerl Armstrong and wife Susie, and David Armstrong and wife Merilyn.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
