Chilhowie, Va. Mildred Ann Elmore, age 89, of Chilhowie, Va., went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2022. She was born on December 17, 1932, in Saltville, Va., to the late Clyde Ferguson and Lucy Clapp Ferguson. Mildred was a member of Chilhowie First Church of God and was a lifelong faithful servant of her Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rachel Hayden, Phyllis Sweat, and Patsy Ferguson; her brothers, Junior Ferguson, Lewis Ferguson, and Thomas Ferguson; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert "Bob" Elmore; her sister, Betty Billings, of Sarasota, FL; her sister, Helen Hicks, and husband Jim, of Saltville, Va.; her brother, Jerry Ferguson, and wife, Ann, of Glade Spring, Va.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Chilhowie First Church of God. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. at Chilhowie First Church of God with Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating. A committal service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va., with Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating. Scotty Hopkins, John Burrows, Jake Harris, Johnny Dunford, Harold Porter, and Mike Ketron will serve as pallbearers.
