Mildred Cullip Lee, age 92, went to be with The Lord on September 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wythe County, Virginia on September 8, 1930 to the late William Luther "Bones" Cullip and Georgie Cregar Cullip and grew up in Glade Spring, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lee; her eldest and beloved son, William "Billy" Lee, Jr.; her sisters, Faye Cullip Helton, LaVerne "Susie" Cullip Dye; and her brother, William Cullip, Jr.
Mildred's six children were her life and dedication. She was a hard-working, selfless, and loving mother who went to work outside her home at the Hosiery Mill and Tultex in Chilhowie, Virginia.
She is survived by two sons, Darryl Lee (Mary) and Rodney Lee (Betty); three daughters, Joyce Lee Boswell (Chuck), Judy Lee DeBusk and Patricia Lee Billings (Mark); nine grandchildren, Dr. Donny Lee (Teresa), Jennifer Sullivan (Tony), Kristie Ralston, Chace Boswell, Jason Boswell (Trish), Lindsay Allison (Andy), Jess DeBusk (Jessica), Mindy Estep and Kimberly Widener (David); 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; her siblings; Evelyn Cullip Counts and Duane Cullip, both of Glade Spring, Virginia; brother-in-law, Percy Lee (Ella) and their son, Raybon (Rachel); special niece, Glenna Hunt (Beryle) and their daughter Erin; daughter-in-law, Connie Swartz Lee; and many nieces and nephews (Cullip, Helton and Counts families) whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her best friend of 44 years, Emma Lee Call.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Sam Haynes officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
