Mildred Oplee Price

Mildred Oplee Price, age 89, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Mildred was always known for her warm and caring nature, and she was always ready to give out hugs to all of those in her life. She was born in Smyth County on July 13, 1933 to the late Wylie and Mary E. Louthian. Mildred loved all animals, and enjoyed the beauty of flowers. Mildred enjoyed attending church with all of her church family at Russell's Chapel Church. She was also a fan of her favorite TV character "Trampus" on the Virginian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; also, her husband, Charles Kenneth Price; infant son, Harold Lee Price; and four brothers, Roy, Clinton, Robert "Bill", and Wade Louthian.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her three sons, Charles Kenneth Price, Jr. and wife Martha, Henry Lee Price, and Stephen Wayne Price all of Glade Spring, Va.; three grandchildren, Dakota Price, Sheyanne Price, and Stephanie Price; niece and caregivers, Mary Osborne and husband James; special nephew, Douglas Louthian; many other nieces and nephews; and also, her church family at Russell's Chapel Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Herman Cress officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, Va. The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
