Glade Spring, Va.

Mitchell Bolden Pratt, age 66, passed away at his home in Glade Spring on May 10, 2025 after a lengthy illness.  He was born August 21, 1958 to the late Schultz and Margaret Johnson Pratt.  Following high school, Mitchell decided to serve his country.  In June 1976, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.  Including his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, B. W. and Berta Johnson.

Mitchell mastered the sport of Karate receiving multiple awards.  He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections after 20years of service.  He loved spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews whom he adored.  Mitchell was a member of the Union Primitive Baptist Church in Sparta, N.C.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his sisters, Karen Hess and husband Ricky, and Kimberly Kiser and husband John, nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Jessica, Lee, and Lucas.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Johnson Family Cemetery with Elder Eddie Lyle officiating.

Military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and V.F. W. Post #4667.
