Nancy M. Hayden Griffey, age 86, passed away surrounded by her family's love on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at her home in Saltville, VA.

Nancy was a devoted, loving, and godly mother and grandmother whose life was a true reflection of her faith. She spent 80 years as a faithful member of Buckeye Hollow Free Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her father served as pastor for 45 years. For the last six years, she attended Open Arms Fellowship with Pastor Douglas Haga. She held a special place in her heart for the children at church, who affectionately called her "Mamaw." Nancy also found joy in crafting, quilting, and participating at local craft shows. Though her absence leaves a deep ache, there is peace in knowing that she is now with her Savior, where her faith has finally become sight. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the children who adored her, and the family who will carry her memory close to their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie E. "Juke" Griffey; son, Gary Eugene Griffey; and parents, Robert and Mamie Hayden.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah Buchanan and husband David, Carl Griffey and wife Missy, Robin Lloyd and husband Bobby, Julie Prater and husband Eric, Carol Griffey, and Archie S. Griffey and wife Wanda; daughter-in-law, Sharon Griffey; sisters, Bertha Saltz and Carolyn Thomas; sister-in-law, Ruth Cregger; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her church family.

The family would like to thank Elite Hospice for their gentle care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastors Robert "Bobby" Lloyd and Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 1404 Mt. Pleasant Drive, Saltville, Va. 24370.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Griffey, Hank Griffey, Michael Umbarger, Cody Griffey, Aaron Lloyd, Eric Prater, JD Cregger, and Chris Marean. Honorary pallbearers will be David Buchanan, Casey Price, Remmington Griffey, Matthew Atkins, Tyler Atkins, Skyler Griffey.
