Nancy Elizabeth
"Libby" Mcallister
Jun 11, 1946 — Jun 11, 2025
Chilhowie, VA
Libby (Nancy Elizabeth) Coe McAllister, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025.
She was born on June 11, 1946, to the late Rob and Agnes Coe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Fudge; and her brothers, Johnny Pauley, Bill Pauley, Roy Pauley, and Bubby (Charles) Pauley.
Libby was a longtime and faithful member of the First Church of God in Chilhowie, VA. She loved Jesus, her church family, and her own family with all her heart. Known for her gentle spirit and servant's heart, Libby always cared more for the well-being, comfort, and happiness of others than her own.
She enjoyed quilting, cooking for others, and spending time with her family. Her home was a gathering place filled with warmth, kindness, and laughter—where no one ever left hungry or unloved.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of 60 years, Roy Wayne McAllister; her children: Tracy and Adam Lewis of Chilhowie, Brian and Robin McAllister of Johnson City, TN, Amy and Daryl Cowan of Saltville, and Heather and Ken Sullivan of Kingsport, TN; and her "bonus daughter," Becky Tilley Bowman and husband Steve of Abingdon, VA.
She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Andrew and Kayla Morris, Corey and Emily Morgan, Krista Cowan, Courtney Morgan and Brandon Sluss, Ashley and R. L. Davis, Noah McAllister, Brandon Cowan, Mia McAllister, Chase Lewis, and Alex Cowan; and 9 great-grandchildren: Silas, Mia, Colter, Summer, Carson, Ryland, Rylynn, Hendrix, and Emerson (due in July).
She is also survived by her sister, June Perkins, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Funeral services for Libby McAllister will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the First Church of God in Chilhowie, VA, with Pastor Bobby Dunn and Pastor Michael Rysko officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the McAllister Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
