Our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Naomi Evans Coe, passed into Heavenly Sleep surrounded by her family on 10th of February 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Na, as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her Parents, William and Zola Evans; sister, MaryAnn Harris; grandson, Ethan Coe, and sister-in-law Linda Tuggle.
Na leaves behind her husband Bill of 55 years; daughter, Jackie Jones
and spouse Tina; son, Billy Coe and wife Morgan; grandchildren, Emmy Rose, Brandon Coe, Lydia Coe, Marshall Coe, Mason Coe, Macie Coe, Lainey Coe, and Ellie Coe; great grandson, Camden; sisters, Wilma Arnold and husband Mick, Debbie Spence and husband David; brothers, Kenneth Evans and wife Brenda, Eddie Evans and wife Cecile, Mike Evans and wife Terri, and Timothy Evans and wife Elizabeth; and dozens of wonderful nieces and nephews.
Na was known for her immense love of family and kind heart. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. She had a love for all nature's critters such as her peacocks, chickens, turkeys, goats, her dog Penny, and cat Theodore. She loved cruising in her little MGB Sports Car, traveling, relaxing and reading, and enjoying life to its fullest.
Na was born 3rd in a family of 8 boys and girls in Saltville Virginia. She went to McCready Elementary School and Rich Valley High School. Na and Bill married 9 June 1969, and she traveled across our world as an Air Force military spouse, and she spent 24 years in Early Childhood Development with the Department of Defense. She gave birth to her daughter Jackie in Batavia New York, and her son Billy in Adana, Turkey. After retirement Na and Bill settled in Chilhowie, Virginia.
The family would like to thank Family Care of Chilhowie, Wythe Hospice, Wythe Home Health and Wythe Palliative for the wonderful care Na was provided. And heartfelt thanks to our in the home "Team Naomi" Jeanie Joines, Grace Hibbs, Addison Graziano, Sarah Davis, Bonnie Walls, Tara Duncan, and Emilie Blackwell. Also, thanks go to neighbor Debra Miller who checked daily on mom and dad. And most importantly son Billy who has taken care of his mom full time for the last six years.
Funeral services for Naomi Coe will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025, at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Evans and Pastor Jonathan Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Westwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Chilhowie, Va.
