Nina Mae Hayden Griffey Saltville, VA Nina Mae Hayden Griffey, age 89, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mamie Hayden; husband William Robert Griffey; son, Jackie Wayne Griffey; daughter, Betty Shupe; and sisters, Bessie Boyd and Daisy Griffey. Mrs. Griffey is survived by her sons, Billy Griffey, Tom Griffey and wife Dicey, Clarence Griffey and wife Barbara, Bobby Griffey, Herman Griffey and wife Kim, and Jesse Griffey and wife Faye; daughters, Linda Cole , and Donna Lawerence and husband Darryl; sisters, Sadie Mitchell, Bertha Saltz and husband Eddie, Louise Hall, Nancy Griffey, and Carolyn Thomas and husband Johnny; 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday November 27, 2020 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery and to please follow the COVID 19 guidelines.
