Saltville, Va. Noah Curtis Roberts, age 81, passed away on January 28, 2022, at the home of his loving daughter, son, and grandson, after complications from a stroke. Noah was born on August 28, 1940 in Saltville, VA to the late Edward Scott & Hazel Matilda Roberts. Noah was a Deacon at Cardwell Town Freewill Baptist Church in Saltville. He dearly loved and treasured all of his church family. Noah played softball in his younger years with his lifelong friend Harold Lamie. He loved to fish in the well fields in Saltville, where he often took his grandson Garrett. He also loved to watch television with his daughter, especially the show "Mountain Men" and "The Price is Right". Poppaw Roberts was often with his grandson Garrett and Garrett's dog Honey. He taught Garrett many things in life, including how to drive. Noah was a bright light in this dark world and taught his family to love the Lord. We are saddened by our loss but know all of Heaven is rejoicing. Noah was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Brickey Roberts; infant daughter, Melissa Roberts; brothers, James, George, Ossie, Joe, and Rick Roberts; sisters, Ocie Priss Fowler, Susan Roberts, and Linda Perzold. Left to cherish his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion are his devoted daughter, Teresa Overbay (Johnny); cherished grandchildren, Garrett Overbay and Ashley Turley (Keith); beloved great-grandchildren Easton, Emersyn, and Kade Turley; sister, Blanche Oberle; loving fiancée, Patsy Griffin (Mother Liz), many nieces & nephews, in-laws, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Cardwell Town Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. A graveside will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
