Norma Jean Hatfield Arnold, age 71, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1954, to the late William McCoy Hatfield and Barbara Lewis Hatfield. Norma was a deeply compassionate woman who dedicated her life to uplifting others. Her passion for helping people led her to Radford University, where she earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Through her career, she touched countless lives with her empathy, kindness, and unwavering support for those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Shawna Renee Arnold; and her brothers, David Wayne Hatfield, William McCoy “Butch” Hatfield, Jr., and R.G. Hatfield.

Norma’s legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her devoted son, Christopher Michael Arnold, and his wife, Kasey; her loving daughter, Wendi Michelle Arnold; and her cherished grandchildren, Autumn Arnold, Keyleigh Paschal, and Jacob Elijah Arnold.  She also leaves behind her brother, Rick Hatfield, and his wife, Teresa; her sister, Mary Sue Martin; her sister-in-law, Darlene Hatfield; and several dear nieces and nephews. She holds a special place in the hearts of her dear friends, Patty Burgess, Lesa Frye, Debbie Sword, Judy “Sal” Jenkins, and Bettye Fields.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at NHC and Caris Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Saltville, VA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
