Orie Virginia Thomas Olinger, age 81, passed away on July 11, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee. She was born on September 30, 1943, in Washington County, Virginia. Orie was a lifelong Christian and a devoted member of Seven Springs Presbyterian Church, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she touched many hearts through her gentle spirit and caring nature. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was always there to support, comfort, and care for them. Orie also helped raise many children she babysat over the years—loving them like her own. She was a hard worker who took pride in caring for others and keeping her home in order. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with those she loved. Orie had a heart for serving, and her kindness and strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched throughout her journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Jane Thomas; and also, siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years of marriage, Jackie Olinger, Sr.; her three children, Donna McClure and husband Mike, Jackie Olinger, Jr., and wife Linda, and Stacey Olinger of the home; one sister, Betty Frye; five grandchildren, Isabellea Buck and husband Andrew, Adriennea Olinger, Luka Olinger, Austin McClure and wife Vashti, and Benjamin McClure; one great-grandson, Sawyer McClure; special nieces, Teresa Bott; and many loving nieces and nephews.
