Otis E. "Pops" Wright, age 89, of Saltville, Va., gained his wings on May 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his home. He was born to the late Lee and Ada Wright in Smyth County, Va., on July 29, 1932. Pops was a hard-working man, even finding joy in mowing his yard; he enjoyed piddling around. He loved music and spent time giving praise through his gifts as a gospel singer and guitarist. In addition to his parents, Pops was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelby Davidson Wright; his sister, Ruby White; and his infant daughter, Baby Girl Wright. Left to cherish memories of "Odie" are his wife of 29 years, Nancy Sue Dinsmore Wright; his three daughters, Debbie Hardin, Vicki Furgerson, and Kimmie Miller; his sister, Helen Martin; five grandchildren, Derek Heath (Meghan), Brittany Collins (Robert), Ashley Edmiston, Brandi Davidson (Craig Harris), and Matthew Hardin (Jessica); twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Rick Stumbo, Terry Sanders, Howard Pierce, Chris Widener, and Braxton Widener; and a special furbaby, Susie. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday May 31, 2022, at the Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, Va., with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating. Rick Stumbo, Terry Sanders, Craig Harris, Chris Widener, Clarence Greer, and Dwayne Reeves will be serving as pallbearers. Chris Jones, Billy "Kiser" Davidson, and Derek Heath will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
