Pamela Mae Wheeler Chewning

SUGAR GROVE, VA

Pamela Mae Wheeler Chewning, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the age of 61. She was born on March 11, 1962 in New York to the late Kyle and Alice Wheeler. Her journey through life was diverse, including a chapter as a truck driver. She spent several years working at Hardee's, where she created bonds with both coworkers and customers. Pamela's heart was as big as her smile, and her love for others knew no bounds. Pamela found joy in the simple things, she had a playful nature and one of her passions was her love for Hello Kitty. But above all, Pamela's deepest love was reserved for her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her three brothers, Bud Tim and Curtis; her sister, Vicki; daughter, Rachel Lester; and two grandchildren, Amber Carolyn and Ivy Reign.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Jerry Chewning; daughter, Sonya Shupe and husband George; son, Terry Vaughn; grandchildren, William Strouth, Robert Strouth and wife Alicea, Jacob Strouth and wife Aurora, Laurel Senechal and husband Justin, Savannah Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, and Alexis Vaughn; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Robert Chewning and wife Kathy, Clifford Chewning and wife Rosy; three sisters-in-law, Mary Sarver and husband Larry, Elsie Wheeler and Melissa Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Jason Mullinax officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Henderson Funeral Home from 11:30 until 1:30 prior to the procession to the cemetery.
