It is with great sadness that the family of Pastor Benjamin "Benny" Roscoe Frye announces his passing at his home on October 21, 2025, at the age of 74. He went to his heavenly home with his loving family by his side.

Benny was born on January 12, 1951, in Saltville, VA, to his late parents, William and Hazel Frye. He dedicated his life to his faith and his family. For 42 years, he faithfully served as the devoted Pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Saltville, VA, where he touched countless lives with his guidance and love. Beyond his role as a pastor, Benny was known as a loving husband and a cherished father and "Big Papaw".

Benny was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, including two sisters, Linda Sheets and Carole Barrett, and brothers, Eugene, DL, Bernard, Eddie, Jack, and Leon Frye.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patty Frye; his two daughters, Susan Frye (Jeff Pickle) and Kimberly (Dale) Thompson; his four grandchildren, Benjamin (Brandy) Thompson, Jeremiah (Hope) Thompson, Jacob (Autumn) Thompson, and Kara Jo (Ben) Wilson; his great-grandchildren, Skyler, Jayla, Jenna, Luke Thompson, and Benny Wilson will also hold his memory close; his brothers, Ronnie, Danny (Dora), and Jeff (Teresa) Frye; fur babies, Molly and Abby, which he loved dearly.

The family would like to say special thanks to Caris Comfort Care for the outstanding care they provided to Benny and the family during this difficult time.

A service to honor Benny's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 4 p.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 243 Kent St, Saltville, VA 24370 with Jim Harris officiating. Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery with Terry Frye officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eric Prater, Brian Stewart, Benjamin Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and Skyler Thompson.
