Chilhowie, Va. Paul David "Cannonball" Keesee, age 76, of Chilhowie, Va., went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2022. He was born on December 31, 1945 to the late Luther Ernest Kessee and Lula Virginia Sesser Keesee in Chilhowie, Va. David loved to work and he spent many years with W & L Trucking. He enjoyed spending his free time riding around the river and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Eugene Keesee, Burton Keesee, Patsy Kessee, Patsy Brooks, Virgie Wilson, Mary Stokes, Tommy Kessee, Ernest Keesee, and Norma Shuler. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edwina Lou Franklin Keesee; his daughters, Paula Hammond (Scott), and Karen Evans (Michael); grandchildren, Tyler Parris (Kaitlyn), Brady Parris, Morgan Hammond, and Megan Hammond; great grandchildren, Eli Parris and Maisie Jo Camper; special son-in-law, Charlie Parris; special sister-in-law, June Keesee; and his special fur-companion, Peanut. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va. Tyler Parris, Brady Parris, Charlie Parris, Alan Keesee, Tony Norris, and Garry Hammond will serve as pallbearers. Eli Parris and the employees of W & L Trucking will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the Army National Guard and the V.F.W. Post #4667.
