Paul Harris, age 84, of Saltville, Va., passed away on May 11, 2022. He was born to the late William D. and Maggie Harris on April 16, 1938. Paul lived in Broadford, Va. until 1960, when he married Dorothy DeBord Harris from Saltville, Va., on March 7, 1960. He then moved to Antioch Illinois with his wife. They enjoyed 62 years of marital bliss together. Paul was so proud of his one and only grandchild, Mitchell Harris for graduating from university of Mo. Paul loved to play and coach softball, pheasant hunting, gardening, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys. Paul never met a stranger; he loved to talk to everyone. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his brothers, Herman, Benjamin, Graham, John, and Gorden; and his sister, Mabel Sheets. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Dorthy DeBord Harris; daughter, Brenda Wioch and husband, Dan of Illinois; son, David Harris and wife, Carmen of Minnesota; grandson, Mitchell Harris of Wisconsin; brothers, Daniel and wife, Mary, Donald and wife, Janice, and Curtis and wife, Dorthy; and sister, Christine Robinson and husband, Randall. Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, but the family suggests a memorial contribution to the diabetes foundation in lieu of flowers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Poston officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The entombment will be following at the Mount Rose Mausoleum.
