Paul Daniel Holmes Saltville, Va. Paul Daniel Holmes, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a Christian who enjoyed attending church. Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his grand babies. He had a passion of working on cars and always keeping up with Nascar. He was a United States Airforce Veteran. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Annie Mae Holmes; his wife, Barbara Keith Holmes; daughter, Pamela Denise Holmes; son, Paul Daniel Holmes, Jr,; two sisters, Beth Surber, and Ellen Storie; two brothers, Ronnie and Wayne Holmes; and grandson, Eric Shane Holmes. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Holmes; three sons, Patrick Holmes and wife Robin, Payton Holmes and wife Pam, and Bubba Holmes (McKenzie Ward); two daughters, Paula Holmes, and Krystal Coalson and husband John; one sister, Hope Collins; seven grandchildren, Katey, Kimmie, Samii, Payton, Jr., Arabella, Madi, and Mack; five great-grandchildren, Marshall, Rylee, George, Mason, and Jaxson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Keith officiating. The burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Military Rites held by the U.S. Airforce and the V.F.W. Post # 4667.
