Philip E. Perry, age 67, of Saltville, Va. passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the home of his granddaughter surrounded by his loved ones. Philip was born to the late Agnes and Harlan Perry of Saltville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David; sister, Marie, his son, Roy Rink; and grandson, Timothy Watson.

He was a graduate of R.B. Worthy High School. Philip was employed for many years as a mechanic throughout the area including Griffin Motors and B&S Auto in Saltville. He was a member of the SVFD for over 40 years and served as chief for many of those years. His passion was serving his community. Philip went on to eventually retire from the town of Saltville. He spent his retirement picking on grandkids, scratching lottery tickets, and tinkering with his tools in his shop.

Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver of 26 years, LeAnn; his daughter, Christine Jones (Kevin) of Glade Spring; son, Michael Steiner of North Dakota; grandchildren, Tyler Jordan (Cheyenne), Autum Watson, Angelina Steiner, and Harley Steiner; great grandchildren, Emerson and Vayda Jordan; his 4-legged children, Billy Jack and Elvis; his brother, Albert Perry (Jolynn) of Tennessee, and son Aaron Perry.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Loupe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Jordan, Kevin Jones, John Kilby, and Michael Steiner. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of his granddaughter Autum at 525 St. James Road, Chilhowie, Va.
