Phillip "Buddy" Winston Roark

Phillip "Buddy" Winston Roark, age 70, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He was a kind soul with a heart of gold that had a tremendous love for his family. He was a devoted Christian and was a lifelong member of the Buckeye Hollow Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a proud and active member of the church and participated in all of the church activities whole heartedly. Throughout Buddy's life he always was a caregiver to his family, and a faithful friend. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoying God's creations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene Roark; two brothers, Glenford and Sidney Roark; and five, sisters, Evelyn Sue Rhea, Betty Helton, Peggy Roark, Nancy Wyrick, and Frances Hunt.

He is survived by his two brothers, Frank Roark and wife Judy, and Dempsey Roark and wife Judy; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and his church family.

Funeral services for Buddy will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Buckeye Hollow Free Pentecostal Church with Pastor Wade Kestner and Brother Allen Hunt officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
