Saltville, Va.

Phyllis Marlene Marshall, age 90, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.  Phyllis was born on February 3, 1934, in Saltville to the late Clyde and Minnie Mullins.   She graduated from Saltville High School and was Valedictorian of her class.  Phyllis was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and loved playing the piano there.  She loved writing poetry and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Marshall, and Cheri Phillips; brothers, Charles Mullins, Bob Mullins, infant brother, Billy Jack Mullins; sister, Revonda Cassell; son-in-law, Keith O'Dell; and stepmother, Viola Mullins.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 69 years, Johnnie Marshall; one daughter, Brenda O'Dell; sister, Betty Church; granddaughter, Kelly Boyd and husband Lee; great-grandchildren, Collin Boyd and Kyleigh Boyd.

A graveside service for Phyllis Marshall will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Barry Loupe officiating.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Campbell, Lester Hamilton, Bruce Rush, Bryan Phillips, Larry Hogston, Randy Roberts, Mike Ellis, and Josh Ellis.
