Polly B.
Taylor
May 21, 1940 — Jan 6, 2026
Chilhowie
Chilhowie, Virginia
Polly B. Taylor, age 85, passed away in the early morning hours Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Valley Rehab and Nursing Center, Chilhowie, Virginia.
Polly had one of the biggest hearts anyone could know. Her door was always open to those in need, and she would willingly give the shirt off her back just to bring happiness to someone else. Caring for others came naturally to her and defined the way she lived her life. Her world truly revolved around her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure. She worked hard her entire life, always putting the needs of her family and those she cared for before her own. When she wasn't busy taking care of others, Polly could often be found watching her favorite westerns, content to spend the day enjoying the stories she loved. Polly was a wild and free spirit in the best possible way, full of life, laughter, and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. She never hesitated to say exactly what was on her mind, and her honesty, paired with her infectious laughter, made her unforgettable to all who knew her. Polly will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched, but her love, generosity, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Taylor; daughter, Gail Carter; mother, Nannie Branson Rhea; four brothers and sisters; and her two kitties, Goldie and Kitty Babe.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Sierra and Cynthia Lester (Harold); grandchildren, Mark Holmes (Erin), Augustina Sierra, Teresa E. Sierra "Little Teresa" (Jabby), Andrea Bailey (Jon), Bryson Carter (Cora), and Ericka Hall; great-grandchildren, Markia McCoy, Christopher, Alyssa, and Brianna Sierra, Josiah and Abigail Bailey; great-great-grandchildren Carter McCoy and Tatum Carter; special friend, Roy Holmes; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank her neighbors on the west end for always checking on Polly.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor David Surber officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.
Pallbearers will be Tim, Bryson, and Kevin Carter; Eric Hall; Mark Holmes; Christopher Sierra; and Jon Bailey.
