Kingsport, TN The last member of Watson and Lola Frye's Family has passed away. Rachel Gladys Frye Farris, better known as Sally, age 92, died at Wexford House in Kingsport on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Billy Neal Farris; nine brothers, Harry, Preston, Claude, "Pete", George, Oscar, Luther, L. W., and Dock Frye; four sisters, Bertha Haynes, Emma Kestner, Susie Callahan, and Lizzie Mathena. Sally was a proud 1948 graduate of Rich Valley High School. She worked in Saltville at Model Furniture Company for many years. She is survived by seven nephews, R. L. "Popeye", "Joe Boy", and Harry Lee Frye, Joe Callahan, Sammie Joe Frye, Lacy Frye, and Allen Frye; six nieces, Nancy Woodward, Barbara Craig, Diana Carter, Faye Kopp, Treva Frye, and her caregiver, Peggy Crabtree. Others left to remember her are her Church family at Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church, especially Mile and Judy Hoback, Jim and Kay Farris, Irene and Bill McCall; special neighbors whom she considered family, Jearline Caudill, Lionel and Linda Osborne, the Todd and Emily Rush family, and Mike Jackson. Services for Sally Frye Farris will be held at Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 with Pastor Jeremy McMillan officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Church cemetery. Great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
