Robert Allen "Bobby" Austin, age 73, passed away on August 24, 2025, at Valley Health and Rehab, Chilhowie, VA.

Bobby was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or simply enjoying nature's quiet beauty. More than anything, Bobby cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a dedicated employee of Bristol Steel until its closure, known for his strong work ethic. Bobby will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henith and Alice Price Austin; brother, David "Peanut" Austin; granny, Ora Talbert Price Geer; uncle, James Geer; brothers-in-law, Nick Gates and Joseph Trahern.

Bobby is survived by his sisters, Peggy Jean Gates of Knoxville, TN., and Rita Faye Coe and husband, Darrol of Saltville, VA.; special niece, Patricia Austin Dutton of Ceres, VA.

In keeping with Bobby's wishes, graveside services at Elizabeth Cemetery will be private.
