Robert "Bob" Wayne Clear, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home. He was born in Saltville on October 5, 1939 to the late William O. Clear and Maxie Poore Clear. Bob's journey through life was filled with hard work, generosity, and a strong commitment to helping others. He retired from Ball corporation where he had a long career as a skilled machinist. Outside of his work career he was always known as a true handyman. He had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a strong, humble, patient, and loving man. Most importantly Bob was a provider for his family. He was a loving husband, father, "Popaw," brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Including his parents, he is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles "Wiley" Clear, and Oscar C. Clear.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Shonies Clear; his two daughters, Leisha Spence and husband Jeff, Karen Clear (Greg); three granddaughters, Christan Taylor and husband Brandon, Ashley Walker and late husband Will, and Chelsey Cardwell; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Karlee, Emery, Leesi, and Donovan; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his special sidekick, his dog, "Haybale".

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville with Pastor Mark Baumgardner officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
