Robert Lee "Bob" Elmore, age 93, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. Bob was born on July 14, 1931, in Saltville, Va. to his parents, Henry and Nannie Davison Elmore. Bobby was a true servant to his Lord and Savior and was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at the First Church of God in Chilhowie. He was retired from Olin Corporation in Saltville; Va. Bobby enjoyed the outdoors where he like to fish and hunt.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred Ann Ferguson Elmore; two sisters, Louise Surber, and Margaret Roberts.

Bob is survived by his brother-in-law, Jerry Ferguson and wife Ann of Glade Spring, VA; sisters-in-law, Helen Hicks and husband Jim of Saltville, VA, and Betty Billings of Sarasota, FL; niece, Cosby Dean and husband Bill of Newport News, VA and several more nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to his wonderful caretakers, Gerald Hall, and Connie Blevins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the First Church of God in Chilhowie with Pastor Michael Rysko and Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA. The following will serve as pallbearers, Scott Hopkins, Gerald Hall, Mark Roberts, Jake Harris, Harold Porter, and Doug Bise.
