Robert "Bob" Marvin Holmes Glade Spring, VA Robert "Bob" Marvin Holmes, age 78, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Bob worked for Moss Trucking for over 25 years. He also started H&H Builders a construction company with his father and son. Together they built many houses in the area. After retiring, Bob and his wife Judy started a greenhouse business, Judy's Greenhouse, beside their home. Judy took care of the plants and Bob was the "Mulch Man". He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lincoln and Mary E. Holmes; his son, Robert Marvin Holmes, Jr.; sister, Brenda Forrester; and brother, Ron Holmes. He was a member of Joy Baptist Church in Glade Spring. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Arnold Holmes of Glade Spring, VA; daughter, Lisa Henderson and husband Joseph of Glade Spring, VA; sister, Rosa Clear and husband Steve of Chilhowie, VA; daughter-in-law, Pam Holmes; four grandchildren, Brittany Holmes and husband Taito of Huntsville, AL, Brandon Holmes of Birmingham, AL, Emily Bogaev and husband David of Dallas, TX, Grayson Henderson of Glade Spring, VA; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Dale Hunter officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
