Glade Spring, Va.

Ruby Mash Boardwine, age 90, passed away peacefully February 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.  Ruby was born November 1, 1935, in Saltville, Va. to the late William and Mae Coe Mash.  She was a graduate of Rich Valley High School.  Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kestner Boardwine, sister, Opal Clark; three brothers, Thomas Mash, Marvin Mash and Melvin Mash.

Ruby was a godly woman and a faithfully attended Byars Cobbs United Methodist Church in Glade Spring until she became unable to attend. She was very musically inclined and played the autoharp and many other instruments.  She played for her Church, and she also played for Revival at Anderson Street Methodist Church.  Her beautiful music filled many hearts and brightened many spirits.  Ruby was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and sister.

Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Stephanie Marlene Foster and husband Ronald "Ron"; her granddaughter, Emily Virmae Williams; her special dog, "Skeeter"; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service for Ruby Mash Boardwine will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at Mount Rose Cemetery with Pastor Paul Griffith officiating.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
