Tannersville, VA Rufus "Hop" Kinder, Sr., age 78, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nellie Kinder; brothers, Reece, Curtis, John, Otis, and Ronnie Kinder; sisters, Beulah Kell, Ruby Waddell, and Sallie Kinder. Hop is survived by his wife Lois W. Kinder; son, Alver Rufus "JR" Kinder, Jr.; brothers, Ernest Kinder and wife Shirley, Sam Kinder and wife Connie, and J.B. Kinder and wife Connie; sister, Nellie Booth and husband Edward; sisters-in-law, Linda Kinder and Patsy Kinder; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Caldwell Family Cemetery in Tannersville with Rev. Mike Andrews officiating.
