Ruth Ann Surber Kondylas age 72, passed away peacefully at her home following a lengthy illness. A truly resilient woman, Ruth Ann fought a long and courageous battle with unwavering strength and grace.

Ruth Ann was incandescent in spirit—strong-willed, intelligent, and full of life. She embraced each day with determination and passion, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a deep love for the outdoors and found great immense joy in gardening, hiking, and spending time in the beauty of the woods.

She was loyal to a fault and devoted wholeheartedly to those she loved. Ruth Ann was a wonderful wife, a caring mother, and a proud grandmother whose family meant everything to her.

An entrepreneur at heart, Ruth Ann owned and operated Little Mountain Soap Company, where she crafted and sold organic skincare products. Her creativity shined through her work, as she was also a talented artist who enjoyed making mosaic jewelry and unique pieces of art.

Ruth Ann shared a beautiful life and love story with her husband, Peter. The two were married on July 7, 1977, at 7:00, a date as special and memorable as their enduring bond. Together, they built a life full of love and raised three wonderful children.

She will be remembered for her strength, her creativity, her fierce loyalty, and the love she gave so freely. Ruth Ann's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sue Brickey; and her grandparents who took a large roll in raising her, Walter and Annie Brickey.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of of 48 years of marriage, Peter Kondylas; her two sons, Miles Kondylas and wife Jenny, and Lee Kondylas; her daughter, Rachael Kondylas; her two grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Laeoni Doe and Luca; she is also survived by the Brickey family, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who have always been full of love and support.

Donations in Ruth's honor may be made to the Abingdon Cancer Center.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
