San Antonio, TX Sadie Marie Oakes, age 92, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 with her son Gary Oakes by her side. She was of the Baptist faith. Sadie enjoyed watching sports on T. V., doing word puzzles, and loved to go shopping. She was a loving mother and sister. A native of Saltville, Va., she was preceded in death by her parents, Garnett and Hazel P. Smith; and her husband, Charles K. Oakes. Sadie is survived by her son, Gary Oakes, San Antonio, TX; brother's, Sylvester Smith, Evans, GA, Jack Smith, Chesapeake, VA., and Ronald Smith, College Station, TX; sister, Nancy Repass (C. W.), Glade Spring, VA and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the Ridgedale Cemetery, Saltville , Va. with Pastor David Mumpower officiating.
