Obituary

Saltville, VA Samuel Lee Colston, age 77, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Christian Care Center of Bristol. He was a Vietnam Veteran, 1st Calvary, U.S. Army. Sam was an avid angler who loved bass fishing and enjoyed working on cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Colston and Nora Chapman Colston; sisters, Virginia Harris and Betty Royston; brothers, Elmer "Buck" Colston and Shirley Colston. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ruth Wyatt Colston; son Samuel Michael Colston; sisters, Mary Wyatt, and Peggy Keith; brother, Clayton "Jacky" Colston; special nephew, James "Jimmy" Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; loyal companion, Rusty. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville with Rev. Tim Bird officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Rich Valley Presbyterian Cemetery with Military Rites. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers: Earl Wyatt, Greg Waddle, Travis Waddle, Lee Wyatt, Justin Wyatt and James "Jimmy" Wyatt. Everyone is asked to please follow the COVID19 guidelines.
