Saltville, Va.

Sarah Louise McElraft, age 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025.

Louise was born November 24, 1931 In Saltville, Va. to the late Jesse and Alene Davidson.  Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry McElraft; brothers, Jackie and Eddie Davidson; twin grandsons, William Forrest Nutter and Timothy Charles Nutter; son-in-law, Michael Bruce Jones; grandson-in-law, Brian Dean Arnold; special friend, Tommy Harris; sisters-in-law, Jane Davidson, Constance Davidson, and Stella Davidson.

Louise was a Godly woman and loved her family endlessly.  Her grandchildren referred to her as "good ole granny".  She loved traveling and camping and had visited 48 out of 50 states.  Two of her favorite places to visit were Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge.  The only two states that she had not visited were Hawaii and Alaska.  Louise was a very successful business owner for 27 plus years.  She loved music especially "The Jam" (bluegrass) and hymns.  She was a wonderful cook, loved sewing, and making crafts.  She would often find seashells on the beach and make crafts to decorate her camper.  Louise enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing.  She loved her lipstick and pocketbooks.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters, Joan Nutter and husband Charlie, and Debby Jones; brother, Gene Davidson; grandchildren, Sarah Arnold, Jessica Nutter, Tabbie DeBusk and husband Dave, and Katie Jones; great grandchildren, Brooke McCorkle and husband Brandon, Justin Nunley, Calvin Arnold and wife Emma, Isaiah Arnold, Lydia Arnold, Alexis Tilley and Abigail Tilley; and great-great granddaughter, Caroline McCorkle; and special friend Herbert Vaught.

Graveside services for Louise McElraft will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Rev. Bobby Dunn officiating.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Dave DeBusk, Justin Nunley, Brandon McCorkle, John Spadaro, and Jim Sharpe.  Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Arnold, Isaiah Arnold, Bobby Chapman and George "Twinkle" Mills.
