Sharon LeAnn Harris Maynard was born in Keokuk, Iowa on August 2, 1947, and went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 23, 2024, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Sharon was lovingly raised by her mother, Delores Louise Carlton and Winnie Thompson.  Sharon's life was not always easy, but she made the best out of what she had. She lived her last eight years at Abingdon Health and Rehabilitation center in Abingdon, Virginia. The family would like to thank all of the employees there that took such great care of her and became wonderful friends to her. Sharon was very social and made friends easily wherever she went. She will always be remembered for her big smile and contagious laugh. She loved music, especially Brenda Lee, Don Williams, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. She was a wonderful cook, with most of her dishes made from scratch. Her pumpkin pies were the best. Sharon loved life to the fullest and always found happiness in the smallest things. She loved to sit and watch the birds at her bird feeders, drink her coffee, and collect figurines. Sharon will be missed by all of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Viola Faye Rogers; and sons-in-law, Richard Moore, and Stanley Hunter.

She is survived by her eight children, Louise Moore, Romona Roberts, Jack Harris (Rochelle), Jenny Hunter, Alexis Reed, Joshua Harris (Gina), Hamilton Harris (Robin), and Phillip Harris; eight siblings, Carolyn (Mike) McGiffen, John (Tom) Thompson, Pamela McCormick, Patricia Stutte, David Thompson (Bonnie), William (Bill) Thompson, Daniel (Danny) Thompson, Winnie Thompson; 24 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Sharon has a large family that is spread all throughout the United States.

Following Sharon's wishes there will be no services.
