Saltville, Va. Shelby J. (Ferrell) Robbins 83, from Saltville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. She was born on February 27, 1938 to the parents of Albert and Harriet (Brown) Ferrell. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jim Robbins; her brother, Ray Ferrell, Jr.; and sister, Janet Howard. She is survived by her sister JoAnn Karantonis; two brothers, Gordon and Jim Ferrell; many nieces and nephews. Shelby was very active in the Assembly of God Church in Dorothy, W. Va. for many, many years. She retired from Big Star Supermarket with over 24 years of service. Shelby and Pam Vines (niece) established the Villa Boutique in Whitesville, W. Va. In 1990, she married Rev. Jim Robbins from Saltville, Va. where they pastored the Calvary Bible Church for many years. She also retired as Church Clerk and Sunday School teacher. Shelby was still a member of the Church. Shelby loved to travel and shop. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews and she was involved in many of their lives. A special thank you to her caregiver and friend, Debbie Smith for all the love and attention she gave to Shelby. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. with Rev. James Gentry and her brother, Jim Ferrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Shelby will be transported to Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitesville, W. Va. where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. with her brother Jim Ferrell officiating.
