Tommy-Jon Hess, age 39, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. He was born on October 10, 1984, in Marion, Virginia. Tommy-Jon was a 2003 graduate of Northwood Highschool. In his younger years, he enjoyed the game of baseball. After graduating high school, he attended The University of Virginias College at Wise. During his time at UVA Wise, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Tommy-Jon's heart was close with his fraternity brothers, and his time at Pi Kappa Phi was more than just a chapter in his life. In his free time, he loved being outside, and one of his favorite hobbies was spending time fishing. He fished as often as he could and made many memories on the riverbanks. Above all, Tommy-Jon was a loving father who found the greatest joy in spending time with his children.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Leon and Bertha Carter, and Andrew and Elizabeth Frye.

Left behind to Cherish his memory is his girlfriend, Cassie Armstrong; their four children, Jolee, Brynn, Olin, and Lona Jane; his parents, Thomas A. Hess, Jr. and Jane C. Hess; his sister, Kimberly Infante and husband Nick; his grandparents, Tom and Judy Hess; aunts and uncles, Terry Hess and wife Suzie, Tammy Gillespie and husband Larry, Judy Holmes and husband Kyle, Junebug Carter, and Barbara Fazelina and husband David; special nieces and nephews, Andy, Denver, and Anna Infante; special cousin/brother, Colten Hess; special friend, Kevin Woodward; he is also survived by several cousins; and many dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Ridgedale Cemetery with Pastor David Mumpower officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
