Tommy "Jock" Rhea, Jr.

Tommy "Jock" Rhea, Jr. age 59, departed this life on Tuesday August 21, 2023, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1964, the son of Tommy and Sally Rhea. Jock was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy S. Rhea, Sr., and Sally Rhea; two brothers-in-law, John Burgess, Sr.,and Jim Jenkins.

Survivors include sisters, Judy Jenkins of Chilhowie, VA, Patty Burgess of Saltville, VA, Lesa Frye and husband Charles of Broadford, VA, nieces and nephew, Christy Huff, Regina Counts, Summer Frye and John Burgess, Jr.; great-niece and great-nephews, Austin Huff, Madison Counts and Tucker Burgess; numerous cousins; and many dear friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of Jock's caregivers and the Nursing Staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital 3rd Floor PCU.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Mount Rose Cemetery with speaker Bird Frye officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery. Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
