Vickie Lynn Smith, age 72, devoted Christian with a heart of gold, left this world on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Smyth County Community Hospital. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, selfless love, and infectious laughter. Vickie was known for her selflessness. She had an incredible capacity for putting others before herself, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her love knew no bounds, and her kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert P. and Hilda R Smith; and her sister, Sheila S. Holley.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her brothers, Douglas Smith and wife Joyce, and Chester Smith and Significant Other Betty; five nieces and nephews, Tammy Snapp, Robert Smith, April Simmons, Christopher Smith, and Michael Holley; special friend and caretaker, Nancy Smith; several great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Mount Rose Cemetery. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery.
