Mrs. Viola Rector price, affectionately known as "Bygie", age 92, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Abingdon Health and Rehab while surrounded by the love of her devoted son.

Mrs. Price was born in Saltville on August 9, 1930, daughter of the late Herbert Graham Rector, Sr. and Laura Susan Inscore Rector. She retired from Harwood Corporation in Marion and later enjoyed working at Swiss Inn in Glade Spring. Bygie was a devoted member of McCall's Gap Presbyterian Church and participated in most church events as long as her health permitted.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 72 years, Robert Ray Price, Sr. "Bob", along with her siblings, Iva Thatcher, Frances Harris, Harold Rector, Sybil Hayden, and Herbert G. Rector, Jr. "PeeWee", and grandson-in-law, Ty Henson.

She is survived by her son Bobby Price, Jr. of Adwolfe, Va.; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, Rob Price and wife Nichole Huchet of Charleston, SC and their daughter, Mercedes Rain Price of Charleston, SC, Courtney Spicer (Scott) and children, Sophia Spicer and Henry Spicer of Arizona; two brothers, Roscoe Rector, Sr. (Lana), and Raymond Rector (Virginia); special niece, Megan; special sister-in-law and caregiver, Lana Rector; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Above all, Bygie's pride and joy was her family.

A private memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McCall's Gap Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 151, Emory, Va. 24327.
