Saltville, Va. "Jenny" Lamie went to walk Heaven's path on Monday, May 17th, 2021, at age 91. We miss her. God has another saint. She served as a deacon, an elder and Sunday school teacher over 50 years teaching God's message to every child. Down here on Earth she did these things in the Locust Cove Church and also worked in Rich Valley schools. God will have new projects for her talents in Heaven. She was born in "Cussing Hollow" in the Cove section of Rich Valley, Smyth County. She married William Franklin "Frank" Lamie, September 2nd 1948 at the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church, raised her family and worshiped God all her life in the Cove. Jenny was a farm wife, mother and community supporter. She did all the canning, gardening, freeze canning, butchering, milking, planting and many things every farmer's wife does. Jenny is preceded in death by husband Frank Lamie; parents, Frank and Blance Pratt; son, Ray Lamie and grandson Troy Lamie. She is survived by her children Betty Armentrout and husband Charles, Carl Lamie and wife Sally, Vicki Lamie and special friend Dave Gorrell, John Lamie and wife Patty, and Mark Lamie; brother, Paul D. Pratt (Pete); nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild with another on the way. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Locust Presbyterian Church in Rich Valley, Va. with Pastor Mack Blevins and Rev. Benny Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed at drhendersonfuneralhome.com. The D.R.
