Glade Spring, VA, Walter Thomas Hayden, Jr., age 95, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 after a long illness. He was the last child of the late Walter and Annas Hayden. Walter was U.S. Army Veteran, retired from Olin and continued to work for many construction companies. His best day were spent in his lawn mower shop doing what he loved, making something work. He was baptized by his grandson, Gary. Walter was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel; sisters, Vida Harris and Princess Irene; brothers, Deward "Spoolie", Eugene "Buddy", Bobby "Sam", Kyle, and William. He is survived by his daughter, Lou Eastridge and husband Wayne; son, Larry Hayden; grandchildren, Gary Eastridge and wife Heather, Laura Easter and husband Jimmy, Larissa Partlow and husband William, Larry T. Hayden, Jr. and wife Mary "Dee", Lucas T. Hayden; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Rev. Gary Eastridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville. Everyone is asked to please follow the COVID19 guidelines.
