Radford, Va. Wanda Louise Bowling Webb, age 89, departed this life on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was born on January 3, 1932 in Foster, NE to Wylie and Thurman Webb Bowling. They moved back to her parent's home place in Rich Valley, Smyth County, Va. in February, 1933. She graduated from Rich Valley High School in 1949, then completed Nursing School at Pulaski Hospital. After graduation, she spent a year nursing in the polio ward at the Medical Center of Virginia in Richmond. She entered the Air Force and served at home and abroad until retirement. She married Joseph Webb from Rich Valley, Va. in 1962. They spent most of their years together in Rockville, MD. Joseph departed this life in 2013 and Wanda moved to Radford, Va. to live with her sister Melba Bowling Long for the last 8 years of her retirement. Her only sister, Melba Bowling Long departed this life September 1, 2021. Left to cherish her memory are; Niece, Peggy Long Collins and husband Jim of Jupiter, FL; nephew, Charles E. Long and wife Cathy; grand nephews, Derek Long and Cooper Long; and great grandnephew, Riley Long all of Radford. Many other relatives and friends to cherish her memory as well. A private graveside service will be held to celebrate her life at the Ridgedale Methodist Church Cemetery in Rich Valley with the Rev. Jim Collins officiating. She will be buried next to her husband, Joseph and 5 generations of ancestors. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Gideon's International or the charity of your choice.
