Watson Hughes ("Bun"or "Ole Pal") Surber, Jr., age 61, of Saltville, Va., went to be with his Lord, on May 1, 2022, at Valley Healthcare Institute. He was born on January 17, 1961, in Saltville, Va., to the late Watson H. Surber, Sr. and Delphia Chapman Surber. In addition to his parents, Bun was preceded in death by his infant brother, Johnny; his brother Jim Surber; his sister, Sue Wassum; sister-in-law, Nita Surber and brother-in-law, Bill Wassum, who Bun always regarded as true siblings. Left to cherish Bun's memory is his loving wife of 19 years, Julie Surber; brothers, Bob Surber, Lee Surber (Sandra), Tom Surber (Jennie); sister, Helen Powers; a special aunt, Elsie Surber; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and many friends who were like family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Carrico and Pastor Ray Wolford officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.
