William Roscoe "Rossie" Barrett, 45

William Roscoe "Rossie" Barrett, 45, of Interlachen, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2025. Born and raised on the North Fork of the Holston River, in Saltville, Virginia Rossi grew up with an adventurous spirit, a deep appreciation for nature, and an unbreakable bond with his two sisters—together, they called themselves the "Bonded Three Link." He was also a proud member of the "Hillside Punks," a close-knit group of friends. Rossi was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving brother. Known for his heart of gold, he was a provider, a protector, and a gentle giant to those who knew him. His love for nature and animals was profound, and he had a deep curiosity for history and archaeology. He spent countless hours searching for arrowheads and relics, always fascinated by the stories they held. A true craftsman, Rossi was skilled in creating primitive weaponry, including swords, bows, arrows, and atlatls and his passion eventually led him to open up his business "Roscoe Stix". He was an outdoorsman at heart, with a passion for hunting and fishing. His talents extended beyond the wilderness—he was a CNC machinist, a welder, and a sharpshooter, whose precision and skill were unmatched. His craftsmanship and innovation in weaponry even earned him a place in the Agriculture Hall of Fame, a testament to his dedication and artistry.

Rossi was a man who lived life fully, embracing his Irish heritage with great pride and carrying a love for all kinds of music. His rough hands were always busy creating, building, and learning, but above all, his heart was always open to those he loved.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and adventure that will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the rivers he loved, the woods he explored, and the memories he created with those lucky enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Barrett.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years of marriage, Harmony J. Barrett; his son, William R. Barrett; daughter, Isabelle L. Barrett; his father, William G. Barrett; adopted daughter, Naomi A. Bigwood; sisters, Annie G. (Edward) Morton-Krise and Laura J. (Porter) McClister; grandmother, Bertha Cardwell; nieces and nephews, Camden McClister, Owen McClister, Phoenix Morton and Dagny Krise; special cousin, Eddie Cardwell and a host of extended family and friends.

There will be private services held for William "Rossie" Roscoe Barrett.
