William "Bill" Clyde Chapman, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Herman and Vernie Woodard Chapman; sisters, Wilma Jean Mays, and Carrie Harkless. Bill loved the outdoors, fishing and having cookouts. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Billy Chapman of Raleigh, NC, and Daniel Chapman of Chilhowie, VA; brothers, Raymond Chapman of Saltville, VA, and Larry Chapman of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Arbie Haynes, of Raleigh, NC, Lisa Statzer of Bristol, TN, Wanda Brown of Welch, W. VA, and Patsy Ann Bias of Welch, W. VA; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special niece and nephew, David and Tabatha Collins of Glade Spring, VA; his "fur babies", Sam and Tiny Dog.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA with Rev. Michael Brown officiating.
