William Stuart "Pat" Oliver Wilcoe, WV William Stuart "Pat" Oliver, age 100 of Wilcoe, WV passed away on March 24, 2021 at Stonerise Healthcare in Beckley, WV. Pat was born in Thorpe, WV, on July 21, 1920 and lived for a short time in Broadford, VA. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he returned to Gary, WV where he worked 38 years for U.S. Steel. He loved having a garden, picking blackberries, and attending WVU football games. He also loved to sing and play his guitar in church and attended Stewart Street First Church of God located in Welch, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Oliver and Sue Moore Oliver; stepfather, Nathan Hess; wife, Gladys Grant Oliver; siblings, Claude Oliver, Glen Oliver, Opal "Dot" Oliver Wyatt, and Nathan "Toder" Hess. He is survived by his son William "Bill" Oliver; siblings Margaret "Lady" Hess McKinnon, Mary "Bunny" Hess Harris, and Thomas "Curley" Hess. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Ridgedale Cemetery with Pastor Rick Walker officiating. There will be military rites held by the U.S. Airforce Honor Guard and V.F.W. Post #4467. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery and follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
