Zelda Ann Routh Nutter, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2026. Zelda was born July 23, 1931 in McCready’s Gap of Saltville, Virginia. She is the eldest of 5 children born to Woodrow and Virgie Routh. She married the late Richard Van Nutter in 1948, settled in McCready and raised 3 sons. Zelda was a graduate of Bible Training Institute and a licensed minister since the early 1960’s. She lived a humble life serving the Lord joyfully in preaching, teaching, prayer and study. With her husband Richard, they pastored at the Church of God of Prophecy for 8 years, ministering in the community of Finney, Virginia. She ministered at Valley Nursing Home for many years. She loved all of the church family.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Virgie Routh, sister Lois Routh Ellis, brother Dean Routh, daughter in law “Jackie” Debord Nutter, Neice Jo Waters, Nephews Dave Routh, Stevie Routh, Micky Routh, Jeff Routh and Harold Routh.

She is survived by 3 sons, Richard “Dicky” Nutter of Blountville TN, Ricky and wife Monica Nutter of Saltville, VA, Mickey and wife Norah Nutter of Bristol TN, brothers Gordon Routh (Regina), Doug Routh, sister-in-law Mary McFarlane (David). Grandchildren are Bo Nutter (Lori), Cindy Mutter (Frank), Nicky Nutter (Amanda), Derik Nutter (Krysti), Kendra Nutter and Jessie Dorn (Chris).

Great grandchildren are Jacob Mutter (Emily), Payton Nutter, Sylas Dorn, Briggs Nutter, Avery Nutter, and Stevie Anna Smith. She has many nieces and nephews including Gail, Sissy, Zoanna, Woody, Robbie, Debbie, Eugene, Dennis, Debbie, Jeff, Janella, Bill and Laura. She also has a special 1st cousin Mike Routh from Connecticut and very special friends Carol Routh, Carol McAllister, Helen Price, Joey Banbury, Con and Pat Smith. Apologies if anyone was left out.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at the Mount Rose Cemetery Mausoleum.
